Crackers

Ingredients

makes ~50 crackers
  • 185g plain flour
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • 30g nutritional yeast (optional)
  • 2 teaspoons Italian herbs
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper (optional)
  • 115ml water
  • ½ tbsp olive oil

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C. Line two large baking trays with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, add the flour, baking powder, nutritional yeast, herbs, salt, garlic powder and black pepper. Mix well to combine. Add the water and olive oil and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Roll out as thin as possible (about 2mm thick).
  4. Using a pizza cutter, cut the dough into a grid pattern. Transfer each cracker to the baking trays, leaving space intebween the crackers. Use a fork to prick each cracker 3 times.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the crackers are golden brown around the edges. Let cool completely in the tray. Store in an air-tight container for up to 1 week.
