Harissa paste

Ingredients

makes 2-3 tbsp
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1½ tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp fine sea salt
  • 15ml lemon juice
  • 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1½ tsp tomato paste
  • 30ml olive oil

Directions

  1. Combine the tomato paste, minced garlic, chilli, cumin, coriander, smoked paprika and salt, and mix. Then add lemon juice and vinegar and mix again until a paste is formed.
  2. Add the olive oil, a little at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.
  3. Store in an airtight container and refrigerate until ready to use.
